PLACE TO FORM

Place to Form was presented in a solo exhibition at Galerie Trois Points.  This series attributes an intrinsic logic to craft, and it is within the simulation of this aesthetic that irony is accentuated. These works of art appear at once artless, while being artful.  This is most evident in the simplistic manner in which the works are produced from hand painted patterns to simple illustrative renderings.

Extended Form challenges the conventional norms of canvas dimensions. A long tapestry, adorned with less than perfect hand-painted patterns stretch far beyond the stretcher frame. The oversized canvas over-extends itself beyond the boundaries of its support.  Painting here, takes on an immersive experience by engaging the viewer beyond the surface of the canvas and into their space.
